Terms of Service

Last updated:

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and Blanket Loft when you use blanketloft.com or buy a blanket from us. They cover how orders work, what you are responsible for when you send us names and photos to print, our promises about returns and refunds, and how any disagreement is handled. Please read them before you order. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived where you live.

In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Blanket Loft, 1806 E. Sequoia Trail, Sioux Falls, SD 57103, United States. “You” means the person using the site or placing an order.

The short version

  • Every blanket is made to order from the details you give us, so please check names, dates and photos carefully.
  • You can change or cancel an order free of charge within 24 hours.
  • Every blanket can be returned within 60 days of delivery, with free return postage; approved refunds are issued within 7 days.
  • You must have the right to use any photo or text you send us, and we will not print trademarks, characters or other people’s artwork.
  • Prices are in US dollars, shipping to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand is free, and the total is shown before you pay.
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota, without limiting your local consumer rights.

1. Using the site

You may browse blanketloft.com and buy blankets for your own use or as gifts. To place an order you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, or have the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. If you create an account, keep your password private and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for orders placed through your account unless you tell us it was compromised.

2. Made-to-order blankets and your personalization

Our blankets are made individually after you order, using the design, fabric, size, color, text and photos you choose. That means:

  • We print what you enter. Names, dates and messages are reproduced exactly as typed at checkout, including spelling, capital letters and punctuation. If something looks like an obvious error, we may contact you to confirm before making the blanket, but we are not obliged to spot every typo.
  • Photos are reproduced as supplied. We may crop, resize or adjust brightness so a photo prints well, but the final quality depends on the original file. A small or blurred photo produces a soft print. If we think a photo is unsuitable, we will tell you before making the blanket.
  • Previews are illustrations. Any on-screen preview shows how your personalization will be placed. Colors on screen vary between devices, and fabric texture, especially on sherpa and woven throws, makes printed and woven designs look softer than on screen.
  • Small variations are normal. Because each blanket is cut and finished individually, dimensions can vary slightly from the nominal size, and design placement can shift slightly. Nominal sizes, and why a finished blanket can differ, are explained on our Size Guide.

3. Content you send us

When you upload a photo or enter text, you confirm that:

  • you own it, or you have permission from the person who does to have it printed on a blanket;
  • anyone shown in a photo who can be identified is happy for it to be used, and for children you are their parent or guardian or have permission from one;
  • it does not include trademarks, logos, sports team marks, cartoon or film characters, celebrity images, or artwork belonging to someone else, unless you hold a license that allows this use;
  • it is not unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or otherwise offensive.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us a limited license to use, copy and adapt it only as needed to make, check and deliver your order and to handle any return or claim. We do not use it for marketing without your separate permission, and we delete it on the schedule in our Privacy Policy.

We may refuse or cancel an order, with a full refund, if we reasonably believe the content does not meet these rules. If someone makes a claim against us because content you supplied infringed their rights, you agree to cooperate with us and to be responsible for losses that result from your breach of this section, to the extent the law allows.

4. Product information and colors

We work to describe each blanket accurately: fabric, size, finishing and what can be personalized. Photos on the site may include digital previews or styled examples, and some product images are illustrations of the design rather than photographs of a finished blanket. If the blanket you receive is materially different from its description, our Refund Policy applies.

Care instructions are provided with each product and in our FAQs. Following them keeps the print and fabric in good condition; damage caused by washing at high temperatures, bleach or ironing a printed or woven design is not a defect.

5. Prices, shipping and taxes

Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) and include the personalization options you select. Shipping is free to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with no minimum order. We may change prices at any time, but the price shown at checkout when you place your order is the price you pay.

Orders delivered to Canada, Australia and New Zealand may be charged import duties, taxes or customs fees by the destination country. Those charges are not part of our price and are paid by the recipient, as explained in our Shipping & Delivery policy. Any sales tax we are required to collect is shown at checkout before you pay.

If a price is clearly wrong because of a technical or typing error, for example a sherpa blanket listed at $0.50, we are not required to sell at that price. We will contact you, and you can either pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

6. Orders and contract

When you place an order you make an offer to buy the blankets in your cart. Our order confirmation email acknowledges your order; the contract is formed when we start making your blanket after the 24-hour change window, or earlier if we tell you so. We may decline an order before that point, for example if a payment cannot be verified, the address is outside the countries we ship to, the content breaks section 3, or we suspect fraud. If we decline an order, we refund any payment in full.

7. Payment

You agree to pay the total shown at checkout using one of the payment methods offered there. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we do not receive or store full card numbers. See Payment Methods for details. If a payment is reversed or disputed after the blanket has been made, we may contact you to resolve it.

8. Changes, cancellations, returns and refunds

Our customer policies form part of these Terms:

  • Cancel or Change an Order: free changes and cancellation within 24 hours of ordering, before the blanket ships.
  • Returns & Exchanges Policy: returns within 60 days of delivery for any reason, including personalized blankets, with free return postage.
  • Refund Policy: approved refunds issued to your original payment method within 7 days.
  • Shipping & Delivery: making time of an estimated 2–7 business days, transit of 7–14 business days, and what happens if a parcel is late, lost or damaged.

If anything in those pages conflicts with these Terms, the page that is more favorable to you applies.

9. Delivery and risk

Delivery dates are estimates. We are responsible for your blanket until it is delivered to the address you gave us. Once tracking shows delivery to that address, responsibility passes to you, although we will still help with a parcel that tracking shows as delivered but you cannot find, as our shipping policy describes. If you gave us an incorrect address, we will help you recover or reship the parcel, as explained in that policy.

10. Reviews and feedback

If we invite you to leave a review, it must reflect your genuine experience with a blanket you bought or received. We do not pay for reviews, offer incentives for positive ones, or edit reviews to change their meaning. We may decline to publish, or remove, reviews that contain personal information about other people, offensive language or content unrelated to the product. By posting a review you allow us to display it on the site.

11. Our intellectual property

The Blanket Loft name and logo, our original designs, product descriptions, illustrations, photographs and the site itself belong to Blanket Loft or our licensors. You may not copy, sell or reproduce them, or create products from our designs, without our written permission. See our Intellectual Property Policy and DMCA page.

12. Acceptable use of the site

You must not misuse the site, including by trying to access accounts or data that are not yours, interfering with the site’s security or performance, uploading malicious files, scraping content with automated tools other than ordinary search-engine indexing, placing fraudulent orders, or using the site to harass anyone.

13. Availability of the site

We aim to keep blanketloft.com available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of the site, designs or options at any time; changes never affect an order we have already accepted.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of enjoyment of a planned event, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, and they do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, such as rights under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where those apply.

15. Baby blankets and safe use

Our blankets are not designed as sleep products for infants. Loose blankets should not be placed in a crib with a sleeping baby. Use baby blankets for supervised cuddles, stroller walks, play and as keepsakes, and follow the safe-sleep advice of your health authority. Keep fringed throws away from young children who may chew the fringe.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any order are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live outside South Dakota, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow.

If you have a problem, please contact us first at support@blanketloft.com. Most issues with a blanket can be solved by email within a few days, and we will always try to do that before anyone thinks about formal steps.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example when we add new products, connect a new payment method or when the law changes. The version shown when you place an order applies to that order. The “Last updated” date shows when the Terms last changed.

18. General

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to someone else without our consent, except that a gift recipient may use the returns policy for a blanket they received. These Terms, together with the policies they refer to, are the whole agreement between us about your use of the site and your order.
