Every one is made to order for one person, one household or one memory, and then folded and sent from the USA to homes in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. This page tells you what we make, how an order turns into a blanket, what we promise, and what we deliberately do not do.</p>\n<h2>Why &#8220;Loft&#8221;</h2>\n<p>A loft is the airy space up under the roof, the place where spare blankets get folded into tall, slightly lopsided stacks. It is also a textile word: a fabric&#8217;s loft is how thick and springy it is, how much warm air it can hold. A high-loft sherpa feels like a hug; a low-loft fleece is light enough to throw over your knees on a warm evening. We liked that one word could mean both the place where blankets live and the quality that makes them warm, so it became our name, and our logo became a small roof sheltering three folded blankets.</p>\n<p>That double meaning also shapes how we talk about our range. Instead of calling every blanket &#8220;cozy&#8221; and leaving you to guess, we compare fabrics by loft, from light to warmest, so you can choose the one that suits the room, the season and the person.</p>\n<h2>What we make</h2>\n<h3>Four fabrics</h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"/product-category/fleece-blankets/\">Fleece blankets</a></strong> are the light, everyday choice: a single smooth layer that shows printed photos and lettering crisply, dries quickly and travels well in the car or to sleepovers.</li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"/product-category/sherpa-blankets/\">Sherpa blankets</a></strong> are our warmest: a printed face backed with a thick, curly reverse. They are heavier and plusher, made for cold bedrooms and long winter evenings.</li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"/product-category/woven-throws/\">Woven throws</a></strong> carry the design in the weave itself, which gives a textured, classic look that suits a sofa arm or the end of a bed.</li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"/product-category/quilts/\">Quilts</a></strong> are built in stitched layers, lie flat and even on a bed, and are often chosen as keepsakes for babies and weddings.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Three ways to personalize</h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"/product-category/name-blankets/\">Name blankets</a>:</strong> a first name, initials, a family surname or a short message, set in lettering chosen for the design.</li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"/product-category/photo-blankets/\">Photo blankets</a>:</strong> one favorite picture, a collage, or a portrait-style design built from your photo.</li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"/product-category/family-blankets/\">Family blankets</a>:</strong> everyone&#8217;s names, illustrated family figures, or a family tree, with pets included.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Two collections people ask for most</h3>\n<p><a href=\"/product-category/baby-blankets/\">Baby blankets</a> carry a baby&#8217;s name or birth details in stroller and toddler sizes. <a href=\"/product-category/pet-blankets/\">Pet blankets</a> carry a dog&#8217;s or cat&#8217;s name or portrait, from crate-size to full couch throws, and are often ordered in memory of a pet who has died.</p>\n<h2>How a blanket gets made</h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>You choose.</strong> Pick the design, fabric, size and background color, then add the names, dates, message or photos. Our <a href=\"/size-guide/\">Size Guide</a> explains what each size covers.</li>\n<li><strong>You check.</strong> Your order confirmation email repeats every word of your personalization. You then have 24 hours to change anything or cancel, free of charge.</li>\n<li><strong>We look it over.</strong> Before production we look for things that would spoil the result: a photo that is too small for the size, a name that looks like a typo, a date that does not exist. If something looks wrong, we email you before making anything.</li>\n<li><strong>Your blanket is made.</strong> Making, checking and folding takes an estimated 2–7 business days. Your blanket is checked before it is packed: lettering, photo placement, color and finish.</li>\n<li><strong>It travels to you.</strong> Shipping is free to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, takes 7–14 business days with the carrier, and comes with a tracking link. See <a href=\"/shipping-delivery/\">Shipping &amp; Delivery</a>.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>Because nothing is made until you order, there is no warehouse full of blankets with other people&#8217;s names on them, and no pile of unsold stock to clear with fake &#8220;70% off&#8221; sales.</p>\n<h2>What we promise</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>The Blanket Loft promise in numbers</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Promise</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">What it means for you</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>24-hour change window</td>\n<td>Change spelling, photos, size or address, or cancel, free of charge within 24 hours</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>an estimated 2–7 business days to make</td>\n<td>Your blanket is made and packed soon after the change window closes</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Free shipping to 4 countries</td>\n<td>US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, no minimum, 7–14 business days in transit</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>60-day returns</td>\n<td>Any blanket, personalized or not, for any reason, within 60 days of delivery</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Free return postage</td>\n<td>We send a label or reimburse tracked postage for every return</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Refunds within 7 days</td>\n<td>Issued to your original payment method within 7 days of approval</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Replies within 1 business day</td>\n<td>Emails and tickets are answered by a person</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>The details are in our <a href=\"/returns-exchanges-policy/\">Returns &amp; Exchanges Policy</a>, <a href=\"/refund-policy/\">Refund Policy</a> and <a href=\"/cancel-change-order/\">Cancel or Change an Order</a> page.</p>\n<h2>Who our blankets are for</h2>\n<p>Most of our customers are buying for someone else. A grandmother ordering a blanket with all six grandchildren&#8217;s names. New parents choosing a stroller blanket with their daughter&#8217;s name and birth weight. A friend sending a sherpa throw with a group photo to someone who has just moved across the world. A family who lost their dog last spring and wants his portrait on the couch where he always slept. A couple in Austin who wanted a woven throw with their wedding date, because it would actually get used rather than sit in a frame.</p>\n<p>Those situations shape the way we work. Gifts have deadlines, so we are honest about timing. Names matter, so we print exactly what you type and ask when something looks unusual. Memorial orders deserve patience, so we never rush those conversations. And because a blanket will be washed again and again, we give plain care instructions rather than promises that it will look new forever.</p>\n<h2>What we do not do</h2>\n<ul>\n<li>We do not invent reviews, star ratings, &#8220;people are viewing this&#8221; counters or countdown timers.</li>\n<li>We do not show fake &#8220;was&#8221; prices to make a price look like a discount.</li>\n<li>We do not print team logos, cartoon characters, celebrity photos or other people&#8217;s artwork, as explained in our <a href=\"/intellectual-property-policy/\">Intellectual Property Policy</a>.</li>\n<li>We do not use your photos for advertising, and we delete them after your order is finished, as described in our <a href=\"/privacy-policy/\">Privacy Policy</a>.</li>\n<li>We do not claim certifications, fabric weights or awards we cannot show you. Where we do not know a measurement precisely, we say so.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Choosing between our fabrics</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>How Blanket Loft fabrics compare</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Fabric</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Loft (warmth)</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Feel</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Best for</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Personalization shows</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Fleece</td>\n<td>Light (1 of 4)</td>\n<td>Smooth, soft, flexible</td>\n<td>Everyday use, kids, travel, warmer climates</td>\n<td>Sharpest detail for photos and small lettering</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Woven throw</td>\n<td>Medium (2 of 4)</td>\n<td>Textured, drapey, classic</td>\n<td>Sofa throws, wedding and housewarming gifts</td>\n<td>Softer edges; best with bold names and simple images</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Quilt</td>\n<td>Medium-warm (3 of 4)</td>\n<td>Flat, structured, stitched</td>\n<td>Beds, nurseries, keepsakes</td>\n<td>Clear prints on the quilt top</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Sherpa</td>\n<td>Warmest (4 of 4)</td>\n<td>Thick, plush, heavier</td>\n<td>Cold rooms, winter, couples on the couch</td>\n<td>Clear prints on the smooth face; fluffy reverse is plain</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>The loft scale compares our fabrics with each other. It is a guide to how they feel, not a laboratory measurement, so we do not attach numbers like weight per square meter that we have not tested ourselves.</p>\n<h2>How we think about photos, color and lettering</h2>\n<p>A blanket is soft, textured and big, which changes how a design looks compared with a phone screen. Lettering needs to be a little bolder than you might expect so it still reads across a room. Photos look best when the main subject is clear and well lit, because fabric softens fine detail. Colors on fabric are slightly less bright than on a backlit screen. We design with those facts in mind, and when we look over your order we check the things that most often disappoint: small photos stretched to a large size, faces cut off at the edge of a collage, and names too long for the space.</p>\n<p>If you are unsure whether a picture will work, send it to us before you order. We would much rather spend two minutes answering a question than make a blanket that is not right.</p>\n<h2>Questions people ask before their first order</h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Can I see a proof?</strong> Your confirmation email shows every word of your personalization. If we have concerns about a photo, we contact you before production.</li>\n<li><strong>Is a personalized blanket returnable?</strong> Yes, within 60 days of delivery, with free return postage.</li>\n<li><strong>How long will it take?</strong> Usually an estimated 9–21 business days in total: 1–3 to make and 7–14 in transit.</li>\n<li><strong>Do you ship to my country?</strong> We ship to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Sizes, in a sentence each</h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30 × 40 in:</strong> stroller, car seat cover, small pet bed or a lap on a cold train.</li>\n<li><strong>40 × 50 in:</strong> toddler nap blanket, reading chair, a medium dog&#8217;s favorite spot.</li>\n<li><strong>40 × 60 in:</strong> a growing child or teen, a dorm bed, a single person on the sofa.</li>\n<li><strong>50 × 60 in:</strong> our most versatile size, enough to cover one adult on the couch.</li>\n<li><strong>60 × 80 in:</strong> two people on the sofa, or across the top of a full bed.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Caring for your blanket</h2>\n<p>All our fabrics like the same gentle routine: wash cold on a delicate cycle, inside out where possible, with mild detergent; tumble dry on low or line dry; skip bleach and fabric softener, which dull prints and flatten sherpa; never iron a printed or woven design. A good shake after drying brings sherpa&#8217;s loft back. Fleece and sherpa may release a little lint in the first wash, which is normal and settles quickly. More care tips are in our <a href=\"/faqs/\">FAQs</a>.</p>\n<h2>A note on baby blankets</h2>\n<p>We love making baby blankets, and we want them used safely. Loose blankets should not be placed in a crib with a sleeping infant. Use baby blankets for supervised cuddles, stroller walks, tummy time, photos and as keepsakes, and follow your health authority&#8217;s safe-sleep advice. As children grow, a 40 × 50 in or 40 × 60 in blanket becomes the one that goes to daycare, sleepovers and the sofa.</p>\n<h2>Where to find us</h2>\n<p>Blanket Loft is an online store.
